Curricula
School at Home
While some parents choose home education because they want an alternative to the way schools approach education - separate subjects, timetables, exams etc - others choose to educate at home for different reasons, and decide to provide some or all aspects of a school-type education. These parents may well make use of text books and workbooks, distance-learning courses, and internet schools, to provide some or all of their children's education

Unit Studies / Topics / Projects
Rather than divide their time between subjects such as history, science, etc, some HE families choose to spend a period of time immersed in a topic of interest, and look at all facets of that topic. These topics might be the kind of thing which a school would cover as a project, but can be covered in more depth and not just in a chunk of the day. The topic might be something which the child already has an interest in, or something completely new. It might be an area where the parent already has some knowledge, or they might be learning together. These topics can naturally include a wide variety of subject areas. For example, Football - you could look at the history of football, how popular it is around the world, create spreadsheets of results or other statistics, etc.
